'I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN HERE': NEIL CAVUTO BLASTS TRUMP AFTER FACT-CHECK ON TARIFFS

       President Donald Trump addressed press pool reporters Friday on the White House lawn and said China's currency has devalued because they "pay for the tariffs." As soon as the video cut back to Fox News, host Neil Cavuto laid into Trump with an immediate fact-check trump.

       When speaking of the China tariffs, the president said, "China is devaluing their currency. They're also pouring money in. Their currency's going to hell. But they're also pouring money in. And that will totally pay for the tariffs. The tariffs are not being paid for by our people. It's being paid for by China. Because of devaluation and because they're pumping money in."

       Trump said the U.S. has brought money in by the billions, and that the U.S. farmers have directly benefitted from it.

       "Remember this, our country is taking in billions and billions of dollars from China. We never took in ten cents from China," Trump said. "Out of that many billions of dollars, we're taking a part of it and giving it to the farmers because they've been targeted by China. The farmers, they come out totally whole."

       As soon as the Fox News feed cut back to Cavuto, he said, "I don't know where to begin here."

       Cavuto went on to say that China is not paying the tariffs, but that the burden was placed on the taxpayer back in the United States.

       "Just to be clarifying here, China isn't paying these tariffs, you are," Cavuto said. "You know, indirectly and sometimes directly. It's passed along to you through American distributors and their counterparts in the United States who buy this stuff from the Chinese and then have to pay the surcharges. Not the Chinese government on China in particular.

       "I didn't quite understand what he was saying about the devaluation of added cost in China. Be that as it may, this latest round of tariffs that kick in on September 1... that will most directly be felt by consumers directly, because that happens on almost entirely consumer items rather than industrial-related items, but just wanted to clarify that."

       This isn't the first time Cavuto has been critical of Trump even this week. On Wednesday he got into a a fiery debate with fellow Fox Business host Lou Dobbs over the rising deficit and debt during Trump's time in office.
